Bidrage med feedbackWe called into the fascinating little attraction on the way out of Scarborough at the end of October On entering we were immediately transported into what seemed like a cross between the Shambles and a movie set. Lovely little craft shops lined the narrow Victorian lanes selling everything from beautifully leather bound note books and Christmas decorations to baked goods. We particularly loved the gift basket shop. There were gift baskets made up for all genders and ages set in beautiful boxes and birdcages and all were so inexpensive that I did most of my Christmas shopping there and then. At the end we called into the charming tea room for a very nice sandwich and drink. Everything was superbly presented and at the time dressed for Halloween. I would love to see it decorated for Christmas. I do hope that this lovely attraction is successful as we would love to visit time and again.
HAVE YOU EVER BEEN CHARGED EXTRA FOR YOUR SUGAR? . ..... We have been going to the Spital Inn restaurant for some time, but recently were charged an additional 50p on our bill. The menu had been removed so we could not check for increases. On our next visit, we queried the charge and were told that the charge was because we had asked for extra sugar! Both of us use two heaped teaspoonfuls in a teacup (3 in a mug) and we had been given one small pot of tea (containing just two cupfulls) and a jug of boiling water which made up another two cupfulls. We were only given sufficient sugar for the first two cupfulls i.e. sachets to the equivalent of four heaped teaspoonfulls. We therefore HAD to ask for more sugar to put into our second cups of tea At the end of this meal, we were again overcharged by another 50 pence (as we half expected).. We complained, but the proprietors insisted that they were entitled to charge extra for the extra sugar, so we paid and left. ..... .Apart from visitors to Faulty Towers, has anyone else ever been charged extra, because they still take sugar in their tea? .
Just returned from Spiral Farm, absolutely loved every minute of our stay, Sandra and Allan were the perfect hosts, the site is lovely and well maintained, the olde world shopping centre is fantastic, loved our full English Brekkie and the mixed grill pack from the Butchers, Trevor the maintenance man is so helpful, can't wait to go back, thanks for a fantastic week
I stopped by this restaurant with my mom for breakfast on our way to Scarborough and we were extremely pleased with our decision. The bacon sandwich was excellent and they even surprised us with a teacake, despite it not being listed on the menu. Along with the teacake, we were served a delicious Christmas jam that they had just recently acquired for us to sample, and it was absolutely delicious, prompting us to buy a jar from the shop. The host was friendly and welcoming, using locally sourced or freshly made ingredients on site, which was a nice touch. I would highly recommend this place if you happen to be driving past!
