The Admiral Hornblower - Rutland

While on a recent visit to this historic town the scent of the flowers attracted me to this lovely walled seating area off the main street as we walked past and decided to have a relaxing drink in the garden. The hotel and bar has a good selection of wines and beers and it also serves food but I did not eat on this occasion. There were lots of people gathered in the garden relaxing after work and the athmosphere was great as everyone was enjoying themselves. The seating has umbrellas over it and heaters attached to the umbrellas in case it was cold.The staff were friendly and it has a real buzz about it but it was a friday evening.

Food was very good. The service was lacking though. Many mistakes with our meal and we had to ask twice for our drinks.

Nice environment, friendly staff. Food is great. The price is above average but worth it.

Perhaps caught this place on a bad Tuesday evening, bar not very welcoming however staff extremely courteous and provided selection of fruit for my Pimms. Ambiance just seems a bit lacking with odd seating areas and no through flow. Not clear where food is available. Well sited and close to Market Place for easy access

Excellent food and very friendly and attentive staff, so good I ate dinner there 2 nights running as the,atmosphere was also very relaxing
