Love the place The staff are brilliant food is absolutely delicious and very good value for your money never have I had a bad meal there and the place is just very relaxing

On our way back from Peterborough, my wife urgently needed a bathroom break. Sensing an opportunity, I made a little deal: we’d stop somewhere for her, but in return, I’d get to escape the heat of the car for a couple of hours, and she’d drive the rest of the journey. As I quickly Googled for a place to stop, I stumbled upon this pub and immediately knew it was my kind of spot. While my wife dashed off to the bathroom, I made a beeline for the bar. I was greeted by a friendly chap, probably in his 30s, who walked me through their current selection with the kind of knowledge you rarely find in pubs these days. When my wife reappeared, she shot me a playful glare and gave me a quick smack on the arm. “You know I agreed to drive, and now I can't after a cocktail!”. Lucky for me, I had anticipated this and ordered her a Berry Burst from their mocktail menu. She loved it. We found a cozy spot to sit, and soon after, my secret order arrived. Now, I have a bit of a sweet tooth, but with two spoons delivered, I can always pretend I ordered dessert as a loving gesture. Hopefully, she doesn’t read this review and catch on! The chocolate orange pudding was just the pick-me-up I needed after having my foot on the pedal for the past hour. As we finished up, I found myself wishing we had time for a full meal, but with a bit of road still ahead, we reluctantly got back in the car. I thoroughly enjoyed our impromptu stop. Places like this are a rare find these days.

Came here with my elderly mum, who is quite fussy lol, and was made to feel really welcome. I’d highly recommend the grilled seabass! Great value for money and really friendly service especially from Pete who was really attentive to our needs.

Took friends there for lunch as a thank you for their help. Plenty car parking, few people there, booked a table in advance. So I was really surprised to be treated as a nuisance. Kept waiting at bar by barman, who wasn 't serving anyone else, no I 'll be with you in a minute . Begrudged serving us, every drink was a trial, lots of deep sighs, no would you like ice a slice? . No receipt offered, when requested just given credit card receipt not VAT one. Plus lots of requests to repeat what we were saying, every action in slow motion. Food was OK for the price but the barman seemed to resent us interrupting him from whatever he was doing. Deleted the app, won 't be back, shame as it 's near.
