We don't have delivery available in our area, so we opted for pickup instead. Overall, this place offers amazing Taiwanese delicacies, ranging from traditional street food to delicious desserts. Oh my gosh, it's definitely worth the drive! They also offer monthly group purchases through their Facebook page, and you can pay via Zelle or other cash transfer methods. Everything comes vacuum-sealed! If you're close to the store, they do provide delivery. Be sure to check out their Facebook page for more details on their menu and options.
I'm not sure why it’s listed as closed on Yelp because I just picked up some frozen food from there last week. The restaurant is situated in a food court, and the service was friendly. The Taiwanese food is authentic, and I absolutely loved their fresh stinky tofu—it's honestly the best in the area! I air-fried it at home and paired it with the kimchi and sauce that came with the tofu. It was incredibly delicious, but my house had a bit of a strong smell for a while! Oh, and the fish roe sausage was fantastic! Definitely give it a try!
**Food:** The Taiwanese version of the rice wrap is quite different from the Cantonese variety. While Cantonese rice wraps typically include green bean paste, seasoned glutinous rice, and a piece of pork, my Cantonese friend tells me that the key feature for them is the green bean paste. In contrast, a proper Taiwanese rice wrap consists of flavored glutinous rice, dried shrimp, a spice reminiscent of bonito flakes, shiitake mushrooms, salted egg, and a chunk of pork. It has been years since I enjoyed an authentic Taiwanese rice wrap; lately, the options available have been disappointing, with small portions, bland rice, and lacking key ingredients like dried shrimp or shiitake mushrooms. Often, the pork is too lean and dry as well. Hugo Foods, however, serves a fantastic rice wrap. The rice is well-seasoned as it should be, and the inclusion of dried shrimp, shiitake mushrooms, and bonito flakes adds the essential fragrance to the glutinous rice. The pork is moist, though I would prefer it to be a bit fattier; I enjoy a ratio of 60% lean meat to 40% fat in my rice wraps. **Service:** The owner is friendly, accommodating, and down-to-earth, treating her customers with respect. **Price:** Each rice wrap at Hugo Foods costs $4.50, which is quite reasonable given the quality of ingredients and the culinary skill involved.
