Bidrage med feedbackNice service but limited menu, at least in low season. My friends complained about the low quantity, I myself was served in good quantity with a beef tartare, of good quality in terms of freshness, but with an unconventional way of serving. Normally ground beef is presented plain without seasoning and the preparation is done in front of and to the taste of the customer. Moreover, for the quality/price ratio the customer cannot find it.
Pleasant restaurant with a rustic atmosphere with exposed beams, large wooden tables and walls decorated with old copper saucepans. The daily menu starter main course dessert at 13 euros seems good value for money. For my part, I had the traditional garnished choucroute (Alsace oblige) with a draft beer. As I expected, the plate was so generous that I couldn't finish it. And yet, the sauerkraut was good and with half a dozen different meats. The welcome is very friendly, the manager is attentive and an excellent surprise at the time of the bill, the 2 children's meals excluding drinks were offered to us. We discovered this little restaurant thanks to the Guide du Routard and it deserves to be included there.
We had read some nice customer reviews online. We were very disappointed. The restaurant is well located a stone's throw from the cathedral. The rustic decor; the correct, friendly welcome. As a starter, a very ordinary fish soup, like you find in a bottle on the shelves of a supermarket; rouille, grated cheese, small croutons (supermarket quality . A bit disappointing for 10 euros, but let's admit. The white wine (from the region is not fresh enough, but that happens too. My companion's dish: young wild boar stew: correct. Not correct at all, however, is the John Dory fillet, although it is the most expensive dish on the menu. The vegetables were good (I liked the parsnip . A white fish can normally be eaten without a knife, the flesh falling apart under the fork. This one was hard to cut even WITH a knife: you would have needed a steak knife. I tried to eat a little bit anyway: hard and rubbery to the bite, and let's not talk about the taste. Inedible. So how do you make such a sole out of a fine white fish?? I didn't know it was possible. The person who served us, although very friendly when welcoming and ordering, did not even, when taking our plates, ask the slightest question or show the slightest astonishment even though I had left eight-tenths of the meal untouched. fish, and a few minutes later (we left without dessert or cheese, without coffee etc. we simply charged 24 euros for it. It's shameless. We will never set foot in this establishment again.
I have been visiting this restaurant occasionally for years and it is always with pleasure that I enjoy these simple seasonal dishes, always very good in a beautiful setting. The quality is constant.
Very good, maybe a little expensive, but the quality is there. To be nitpicky, the fries weren't up to par, the ones on the daily menu looked much better.
