Service beaucoup trop rapide pour un dîner entre amis. Commande des menus demandée alors que les apéritifs n’ont pas été choisis. Plats corrects sauf le dessert carotte orange très fade consensus des convives) . Ambiance agréable . Cadre sympathique.
We reserved for a group of 25 people on a monday night,they were waiting for us when we arrived, they had a nice little room reserved only for us inside the restaurant,i was skeptical at first because only 1 waiter was assigned to us all, but the guy did such a great job that it was like they were 3 waiter taking care of us,he took order rapidly and brang us wine and tapas while we waited for the starters,all the food arrived at the same time during the whole night,food was great, but not the best i ever had.the wine card is pretty well furnished, they have some really good wine availabletapas were really good too, we had a mix of foie gras, cold cuts, and french cheese.i had the salmon maki with a pea and mint purée for starter,for the main dish it was a pork ribs with a dried tomatoes sauce and red bell peppers,and for dessert i had a frozen nougat covered in a chocolate sauce,plus the waiter brang us for free 2 rounds of shooters at the end of the meal.portions may be small if you are a big eater, but at the end, you feel full without being overfed.all the staff was super friendly,i'll come back next time i go to rouen
After a long day's work and a good walk around the beautiful centre of Rouen we had to choose a restaurant. Thing is there are so many ones to choose from that we decided to take a chance.From the outside it's quite plain, plenty of people happily eating but as it was getting late we thought it best to go inside. What an eye opener - far classier on the inside. The table we where given was (sounds daft I know!) was big enough and the chairs comfy. The only downside was the beer choice; poor and the one I had was a bit sweet. Never mind. I started with crispy poached eggs, asparagus and cheese. Never had crispy poached eggs - can't wait to see that choice again - really good and actually a big old starter.My main course was lamb shank [had super beef dishes on the last two nights, hence lamb:)] with a polenta, vegetables, and a highly flavoured jus. The meat was very steamy so might have had a quick microwaving but was still tender and tasty. Lovely. For pudding, a selection of 'ripe' cheeses. A bottle of St Estephe at €45 was steep but complimented the food gloriously. Happy chappy and would definitely go again. Oh ... the leaning building definitely looked straighter after the meal!
