Bidrage med feedbackThis establishment is more of a pub than a restaurant, which was not what we were originally expecting. The food was decent, but not particularly outstanding.
I made a reservation at this restaurant to check out the location. It is a spacious pub with ample off-road parking, 3 separate bar/dining areas, a pool table, and dart board. The interior is slightly worn and could benefit from a renovation. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and helpful. We opted for the 2 for 1 deal on the Lasagne, which was delicious, well-prepared, generous in portion, and surprisingly light. It was accompanied by a delightful salad and garlic bread. The wine, although enjoyable, was a bit pricey. To our surprise (and later, dismay), we had booked on a night when there was a live music event in one area of the bar. However, it was poorly attended by customers. It turned out to be a guitar-singing event where participants passionately butchered some of my favorite songs from the 80s. Our emotions ranged from quiet, hysterical laughter to tears of frustration, to wanting to report a crime to the music police. There should be regulations against this type of entertainment. Despite the venue's shortcomings, the excellent quality of the food made up for it.
I will never visit this restaurant again! The staff was rude and provided poor customer service, including the owner. There was no friendly face in sight. I was with a group of friends sitting in a quiet part of the pub in front of the TV at 11:50pm, ready to watch the fireworks on New Year's Eve. They came over and switched the TV, despite knowing we were watching it. When I complained, they refused to switch it back on, saying they had to turn it off. I was furious at their disgusting behavior. It's no wonder their pub wasn't busy on New Year's Eve, as it was very unwelcoming. I miss the previous owners of this lovely pub.
Called in without booking as we were staying just up the road.Very friendly young lady behind the bar.Service was good and so was the food. We had to eat in the bar as there was a band practise in the restaurant but that wasn't a problem.
It was our first time visiting the Wheatsheaf Inn and all we can say is how brilliant it was! The food was lovely and great service. The staff were all friendly and made you feel welcome straight away! Nothing was too much trouble. The owner is just brilliant what a lovely down to earth lady! Highly recommend this pub. Will definitely be visiting again!
