I tried surfing the Google reviews for schneeballs before settling on this bakery. Disappointment! I can 't say if it 's simply a matter of schneeballs not being all they 're cracked up to be, or just this place, or just that they knowingly gave me an old one (which is honestly the worst possibility . They make consistent reference to the fact that these things can last 5-7 weeks, which makes me afraid to even ask how long everything has been sitting out all over town. Do they even make them fresh? When? How can I get one? Why did mine taste and act like it was a week old? Not crispy, instead kind of that old I was crunchy once in a past life texture. So it was hard (but not crispy hard , dry, and actually pretty flavorless. I thought the powdered sugar version was the most traditional one, but it needs a serious upgrade. The sugar doesn 't go nearly far enough. Maybe it 's one of those things you have to score fresh. Either way, clearly not something you can order and have shipped, and expect to come out good, despite all claims to the contrary. Also disappointing if you have to arrive at just the right time or get lucky, and that they don 't bother providing a positive experience to everyone. I recommend building time (and stomach space into your schedule to try the smallest schneeball at several locations, if you really want to experience it, which I did not do. And then please, review them all and tell me which is the best one so I can try again next time. ;
