Soy - Rosendale

My family group visited this restaurant and found it to be very welcoming. We had originally reserved a table for outdoor dining, but due to rain, we were seated inside without any issues. The restaurant had a nice selection of games that kept the kids entertained while the adults enjoyed their meals peacefully. The portion sizes were on the smaller side, so some of us ended up ordering extra appetizers to make up for it. One entree per person along with a couple of shared appetizers would be enough. The food was delicious, especially the fresh tofu and beef stew. The kids loved the French fries with curry sauce. We will definitely be returning to enjoy the outdoor patio seating. Parking was convenient in the municipal lot across the street, which also had an EV charging station. Rosendale was quiet on the rainy Sunday evening we visited, but it may be busier at other times of the day.

The last time I went to this restaurant, the food was fantastic but the service was terrible. Despite this, I overlooked the shortcomings. Upon returning at 6PM on a Wednesday, the restaurant was nearly empty, with only one other couple present. I was excited to introduce my friend to the restaurant, but we were met with a cold reception. The server, who I presume was the owner, seemed annoyed by our presence. After a brief interaction, she disappeared into the kitchen without saying a word, leaving us waiting for 5 minutes. Eventually, we decided to leave as she never returned. It's unfortunate that a restaurant with a talented chef and delicious menu can have such poor service. Perhaps it was just an off day for them.

We absolutely loved everything about this restaurant! From the atmosphere, the food, and the owner herself, Etsko, who told us all about her restaurant. It was our first time here and we were pleasantly surprised by how spacious and tranquil the place was. Dining outside in the back was incredibly calming, with the soothing sound of the water fountain filled with goldfish and the sight of birds flying around in the lush greenery. We tried the Japanese stew and it was absolutely delicious, perfectly balanced. We are definitely fans of this place and will be returning again and again!

Everything was amazing! We had dinner and the cost per person was between $50 and $100. The food, service, and atmosphere were all rated a perfect 5. We highly recommend trying the Spicy Tuna Avocado Bowl and Eel Cucumber Bowl.

Elegant simple menu with a variety of quality Japanese style dishes. The small menu made it easy to pick yet there is something for everyone. Given the select items, this must be a key factor in why each dish was a 10 out of 10 flawless and tasty. Kid-friendliness: Has a nice covered back deck, with board games.
