Bidrage med feedbackOcean Plus Fish Market and their two owners, especially Dan, are gems who strive to earn your business. It's located in a dated strip mall serving some of the best valued fresh seafood in the San Gabriel Valley. Ordering is easy. 1. Text Dan 2. Gives you market price for that day 3. Order 4. Pick up Enjoy. If you can skip the restaurant decorum and setting, Ocean Plus Fish Market package their fares thoughtfully with lots of ice, artistry and a respect for their craft and your consumption taken into consideration throughout the entire process. I am already a repeat customer. Pictures are of an old older and I swapped uni for abalone on a new one for today. Great value. Run, don't walk to Ocean Plus Fish Market!
I usually come here when I want to make sushi for my family, friends, and I. Prices have increased but price is still reasonable and the fish is good. Everything tastes fresh and not fishy. Although I did get times where the fish wasn't the best, they're still pretty consistent on what they offer. I usually go for the salmon, but the geoduck is really solid as well. I really wanted to like the toro, but it wasn't as great as I hoped Overall score: 4.25/5
I say quality is not as great as I guess the next closest local competitor is Yama Seafood LA, but I would say this location is more budget friendly. The price is good. One thing that gets me is the weigh-in. I have a scale and me and my friend find it less by about 30% less than the weight for the price. We called and the owner (I guess) explained the weight is with skin and overtime it thaws. The cuts aren't as great either as sometimes skin is left on some of the pieces. Oh yeah, forgot to add that I order salmon sashimi. Tip: call ahead because it's a long process. Line could be busy. Also, buy or make some miso soup to consume beforehand. Warm soup makes the belly feel ready and safer to eat in my opinion.
One of the coolest places in San Gabriel Valley is Ocean Plus Fish Market in Rosemead. This place is a must pre-order your sashimi plates. I have been here multiple times over the years for a nice sashimi plate. You can order whatever your favorite slices of fish are. Mine is salmon, tuna, toro, and yellowtail are my favorite to order. They will ask you how much you would like per fish and then put it on a plate for you. It is a quick pick up and they do give you ice so you will be good when you take it back home. It's always tasty and fresh!
Make sure to try the meatballs; I’d drive here just for them! They’re priced around $6 or $8 for a pack.
