Com Tam Ninh Kieu - Rosemead

This is a fantastic cozy spot to dine and unwind. So far, the food has been delicious. I've tried the pho and the pork chops, and both were great.

During my last visit, I ordered bun rieu and felt that something was off. The flavor was almost there, but something was missing. After that meal, I suffered from stomach pains for about a week, and I’m fairly certain it was due to this restaurant. I hesitated to return until yesterday when I decided to give them another chance while dining with friends. They ordered the #1 dish, and I opted for bun bo hue this time. Unfortunately, I’m experiencing stomach cramps again today, and the flavor was not right once more. My friends seemed fine, but I suppose you can't really go wrong with a basic beef pho. However, the bun bo hue and bun rieu soups left me wondering if they were using poor quality meat. It’s striking how this place is almost always empty at all hours, and despite the high prices, the quality just isn’t there. It feels like they are cutting corners to the extent that customers are suffering from food-related issues. I definitely won’t be returning for a third visit.

I was really disappointed with the pho. The noodles were stuck together and had a paste-like consistency. The soup tasted like it was straight out of a can. I definitely won’t be returning.

I love this restaurant because they don't poison me. i like the pork chops and rice with ox.

My parents used to love coming here to get the broken rice with the 10 items. Cleanliness isn't the best here, but the food is decent. Not the best broken rice or pho I've ever had, but not a bad value and very local. I personally only get the com tam here to-go, and for the price, it's not a bad value. Flavor is decent and portion is good. Overall score: 3.5/5
