The Village Grill Knockcroghery

I used to stop at this restaurant every time I drove from Dublin to Roscommon and was always impressed with the food. My wife and I recently ordered burgers and they were absolutely delicious. However, on our most recent visit, the food was terrible - we ended up throwing it out after just one bite. The place seemed dirty, the staff was unfriendly, and the food was not fresh at all. I would recommend going back to the previous supplier because the new food is awful.

There are limited options for lunch in this town, but local residents recommended trying the food van in the car park. Despite typically avoiding burger bars, we decided to give it a try for some chips. To our surprise, we were blown away by the quality of the food. The burger was amazing, made by a local butcher with rolls from a local baker, and served with proper chips. The lady who cooked and served the food was lovely, and the seating area in the car park was a nice touch. The menu was quite extensive and we would definitely return to eat here again.

Great food, nice staff. My self and my girlfriend are regular visitors who are there for a coffee and their fresh bread or, pizzas and other beautiful dishes. It is also worth the perfect pit stop when driving Roscommon to Athlone street. Appropriate, friendly, tasty, quirky, comfortable.

Fabulous food and authentic quirky decor. The staff were quietly busy, but on the ball, very nice to see that the older couple is accommodated by the staff who are not afraid to move the young boys in the brekki bar....also the class.
