I am writing this review regarding the peach cobbler. I was very disappointed on 08/09/23. The cobbler crust was not light. It was thick and had no flavor. The peaches and juice were tart and had a flavor that was very unpleasant. Too much of some spice. May have been allspice or nutmeg. I am not sure which spice. I have had peach cobbler from them previously and it was very good. There was no consistency. It's great having a soul food restaurant in the area. Please be consistent. AJR

I know there are a lot of mixed reviews about this place, but from Mt experience, I'd give 5 stars. I got fried chicken elsewhere but wanted soul food sides, so I got candid yams, macaroni, and greens. They were all so good. The greens had ribs falling off the bone in them, so they weren't from the can, as i know some people said on here in the reviews. The macaroni was homemade, and candid yams had good flavor. Wasn't expensive at all and good portions. Will return.

Whoa the word pleasantly surprised is an understatement.... I pass by this place often and I always see people coming in and out but because it just says meats on the outside I never thought it was a soul food restaurant....BUT THEN one day I noticed a small sign underneath the meat market sign that said soul food so I thought maybe I 'll try them out.... Very sketchy on the outside but Omg the soul food was absolutely DELICIOUS!!! I got the half slab dinner with Mac n Cheese and Sweet potatoes, the ribs were perfect ALL MEAT, no fat or gristle and very well prepared not too charred or over cooked....perfect sauce, not too sweet not too salty, actually tasted homemade as well! The mac n cheese was nice, soft and CHEEZY and the sweet potatoes were NOT FROM THE CAN! Something I appreciate seeing how hard it is to find soul food places that actually make their sides FROM SCRATCH, not from CANS!!! My only disappointment was that they didn 't throw in a piece of cornbread with my food after reading the reviews and hearing about how good their corn bread was I should 've made sure I asked for some but I figured it came with the meal...it 's all good, I WILL be back anyways so I 'll catch it next time!

About 2 years ago this place was awesome.. I don't know what the heck is going on now... They changed their hours to now open up at 11 but When you call no one answers. . like today it's 11:15 and no 1 is picking up the phone ..There used to be a time I could order my food at 10:30 and on my lunch break at 11am my food is ready to go .. I'm not sure if it's under new management But it is absolutely ridiculous... I always want to support because they the older lady who is always there is soooooo nice but UGH Let's get it together Real Mccoy
