Fresco Caffé&cucina - Rome

Awful experience. Staff very rude (the young man there literally threw my change at me) and an absolute ripoff. Don't order the special off the day as you'll be charged an extortionate price for a below average meal. Lots of nice eateries just further along the road. Avoid... avoid... avoid... this one. I wouldn't even give them 1 star but needed too to get my review posted!!!!

Extremely overpriced and food quality poor. 22 euros for 2 iced coffee’s and 2 mini cannolis…terrible quality for Italy.

Yeah, just don't come here. They gave out a dirty fork and the food was very bland. I ordered a tomato basil risotto which was more of a rice soup than a risotto. The sauce tasted excactly like canned sauce and the dish had no spices whatsoever. The tomato and basil named in the menu were 3 slices of tomato and 1 leaf of basil on top. Expected more from a 9€ risotto. Very dissappointed!

The servers were polite and friendly, but that is what gives it the one star... otherwise would be zero. Should have known not to stop so close to the Vatican. See attached pic of my 18 Euro chicken dinner . Tomato is inedible, salad wilted and brown, chicken overcooked and dry. Mussels tasted fishy. My kids pasta was OK, but everything was extremely over priced. Total bill for a lunch for 4 was 100 Euros with no alcohol. Small soft drinks were 3.5 Euros? Bathrooms also disgusting, water running in sink non-stop. Worst restaurant experience of our trip to Europe.

1. Snarky waiter who was clearly dissappointed in our small order of cafe and gelato. 2. Filthy bathrooms. 3. And most important, it was not mentioned that if we used a card our price was nearly doubled. We just got into Rome and did exchange. Touristy and just plain nasty.
