Nuovo Drago D'oro - Roma

When I arrived here it was very late and, therefore, I got the meals so quickly. I chose a set menu, which was very filling! Anyway, the dishes were absoultely tasty. I would strongly recommend this place!

Tucked away close by the southern wall of the Vatican City, a short walk from St Peter's Square, Nuovo Drago D'oro is a gem of cheap eats restaurant. It is nicely decorated and comfortable. Service is efficient and pleasant. There's an adequate wine list. However, best of all is the food. We tried Peking Duck ... just the filled pancakes ... and Spicy Tofu. The duck was roasted perfectly. The pancakes were larger than most. The plum sauce was delicious. Cucumber batons and shredded carrot completed the dish. All in all, tasty, generous serves of Peking Duck. The tofu was on another level altogether. It comprised cubes of the softest, silkiest tofu in a piquant sauce, one with enough chili to create a real kick without burning your mouth. This was a melt-in-the-mouth sensation of a dish, one of the best Chinese dishes I have tasted in years. Prices are moderate to low. Highly recommended.

Myself and my girlfriend ate here tonight and it was the worst Chinese I’ve ever had. We sent 2/3 of the dishes back as the meat was disgusting. They tried to show us what meat it came from however it did not represent what was served to us. The chicken we had was full of blood and did not at all look like what it should of. I wish I had listened to the other reviews of this place. Avoid this place at all costs!!

We stopped in here for a quick late lunch during our trip to Rome. The customer service was awful!!! We were hustled to a table that was dirty. They cleaned the table and sat us and asked our order. The sweet and sour chicken was okay tasting the beef was slimy and strange. Our party never got our whole order. Before we even got the check one of my friends had to run outside and throw up!! Then the table next to us also started to complain about the food and some of them threw up in the bathroom. When we brought this to the owners attention... they responded with saying the food was fine. Finally hey told us just to leave. So we didn 't have to pay for it, but as we were leaving we were being cussed at in Italian by the owner. I realize we weren 't out any money... but the health department needs to seriously check this place out..... absolutely terrible all around!

The location is convenient, the food is delicious, the service is very good, and it has a five-star rating. .
