Mitchell's - ROCKY HILL

Rocky Hill location. This is my favorite breakfast spot, but only Monday thru Friday. Twice I’ve been disappointed on the weekend visits, but today (Saturday) was one of the worst breakfast dining experiences EVER. I ordered my usual Salmon Benedict w/o Hollandaise, because the egg yolk makes the dish nice and moist without all those extra calories. Instead I got two hard boiled eggs on overcooked salmon with charred asparagus that was on one of the muffins, just touching the other, and hanging off the plate. I spoke to the waitress about it and she assured me it was done properly. The egg was like that because it cooks the brain in the center of the yolk first. I kid you not!!! She made no effort to replace it or even notify the cook. My boyfriend’s meal was equally appalling rubbery bacon, undercooked sausage and the waffle didn’t taste right, nor the potatoes. His eggs were good, but I’ve never known him to leave so much on his plate and neither of us took take home. We waited a good 20 minutes for a booth, which unfortunately put us past the 1pm close. When that clock struck one, we were requested to check out even though we hadn’t finished our food. The waitress ignored his request for coffee (she was busy trying to make a deal with someone for her brother’s tree trimming business), and by the time she did, she said, this is your last refill we’re closing. I have never been so rushed and been treated so rudely. All my visits with M F staff have been 5 star!

Food is priced correctly. The staff goes above and beyond. FYI : all the people who complain on here are just miserable people. Cook at home if you don’t like food cooked by others.

I use to come here after working Night Shift at least twice a week with no issues ordering through the phone and picking it up pretty fast. I knew they were always busy Saturday mornings which is why I would call ahead at least 15-20 mins so I can just arrive and pick up my BEC on a bagel. One morning I go and they said it’s not ready after I had called 30mins before so I said okay I can see they are busy….understandable. I continued to wait another 30mins standing until one of the staff was decent enough to ask why and for what I was waiting instead of ignoring me since she had noticed I was there for a while. I told her my order and turns out they had given it to someone else. This was infuriating because I was hungry and sleepy after working a 12 hour Night Shift. Well she immediately told one of the cooks to stop whatever order they were doing and to make my order since I was waiting for too long. For that I thank that staff member but I have never returned ever since and found another place in Rocky Hill. Their food is good but their service could be better.
