El Chico Cafe - Rockwall

Our local El Chico has closed down, and we haven't enjoyed their food in quite a while. We decided it was time to stop in and indulge in some good eats. The service was excellent; the hostess seated us promptly, and our waitress was very attentive to our needs. The chips were fresh, and the salsa was delicious. We ordered a bit of everything: the children's pizza, chicken enchiladas, burritos, and chimichangas. Our meals arrived quickly and were served hot and fresh. You simply can’t visit El Chico without trying our all-time favorite dessert: hot apple pie with cinnamon ice cream and brandy butter. It’s an absolute must-try!

This place is even better than the photos suggest. The taco salad is a standout favorite, and their salsa is among the best I’ve tasted in the last few years, albeit a bit spicier than I anticipated. So far, I’ve only had the brownie skillet for dessert, and it exceeded my expectations in terms of texture, flavor, and portion size. Overall, it’s one of the best Tex-Mex restaurants we’ve experienced in the last four years.

We had a fantastic experience at the restaurant! Our server, Bryan, was outstanding. Our food arrived promptly, and there were no errors with our order. I’m really glad I decided to give this place another try. We’ll definitely be returning soon!

As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed by the host, who was very friendly. The hostess who escorted me to my table was also quite chatty, which I appreciated. Since it was my first time there, I asked for her recommendation, and she suggested the fajitas, which I happily ordered. The steak was juicy and full of flavor, while the chicken was tasty, though I thought it could use a bit more salt. The sides were spot on—the charro beans were delicious, and the flour tortillas were outstanding. If I find myself back in North Dallas, I will definitely return. Highly recommended!
