Niwano Hana - Rockville

Bad! Wait almost 20 minutes to the ONLY one waitress of the restaurant attend me, she was in a rush (obviously because is the only one working) and doesn’t have a good attitude and care about our order. Unfortunately we probably won’t be back there, unless they contract more people to work and take care of the costumers.Service: 1/5

The food was flavorless. We got beef gyoza, California rolls, spicy tuna roll, and dynamite roll (a special roll). The beef gyoza was good but kind of soggy. The regular sushi rolls were subpar compared to other places. Their specialty dynamite roll was bland. Nothing dynamite or impressive about it. I will not return. Confused by the high reviews.

My family and I went for a Birthday party. The food is excellent. The fish is tender and fresh. Great, little, affordable, convenient restaurant that I would recommend to anyone.Food: 5/5

Yesterday my wife and I arrived at Niwano at 2:30pm according to my apple watch and 2:31 according to their clock. We have eaten at this Japanese restaurant at least 10 times. The Host would not honor their lunch menu since their clock said 2:31pm. She checked with the kitchen and they said no. Here is the rub. They were thoughtless, rude and in no way companionate. My wife had just completed her third week of radiation therapy and we were delayed by traffic at the corner of Edmondson and Rockville Pike due to a semi-truck having difficulty maneuvering a left turn. We tried explaining this to the manager but she was insensitive and rude. Do not recommend this place. Will not return. There are many other alternatives on Rockville Pike and nearby.

I’d been here before and generally had really good experiences; tonight they gave my mom a hard time about a $1.50 (posted sign said $1.25) extra spicy mayo on an $80 tab, and when we got home we realized they never gave us the seaweed salad we paid for. Not a great experience tonight.
