Poached - Rochester Hills

Poached is tucked away in a little strip mall, you can easily pass it up. But don't! I had eggs Benedict, my granddaughter had a waffle. They were wonderful. They bring a half liter of water to the table with plenty of ice, a lovely touch. I'll be going back.

Poached is my favorite place for breakfast food. Pancakes and the best in the area. Unique savory crepes and eggs Benedict. Omelette are done to perfection and there is something magical about the way they do their bacon?!? It is perfectly crisp and not drenched in grease. Service is amazing. Quick. Slightly upscale for a typical ‘diner’ experience. It is cozy and quaint. They do everything a little extra special.

First time here. 4 of us. 2 got the chorizo burrito they liked it. Jalapeños are in the burrito but they asked for it on the side. Without the Jalapeños the spiciness is medium. If you like very spicy keep Jalapeños in burrito. I had the lemon rice soup it was really good. I asked what's good the waitress recommended the chicken pineapple sandwich. I didn't realize when I got that it's exactly that.... pineapple in a grilled chicken sandwich. I didn't like at all. I guess I thought it would be some creative way it would be added to sandwich. Tried taking out but still was not good as the chicken had no flavor. So I told her didn't like and asked for the club instead. They still charge you by the way. My other son had the cinnamon French toast, eggs, and sausage. He liked everything. They give you big portions. Overall would definitely go again.

The food is good but it’s SO overpriced. I ordered the “Red Velvet Waffles” for $10 and all I got was one waffle with a gross looking dollop of cream cheese on top. You’re better off going to Auburn Country Oven across the street. Just as good and half the price.

I stopped in to Poached late morning when I was very hungry having fasted for some medical tests. I got the chunky monkey pancakes and a French press coffee. Everything was so unbelievably good! The cream cheese frosting on the pancakes was an amazing touch and the owner was there and told me that they make it themselves in house. I will definitely be back and I would love to try something else but I think I would have to get those pancakes again because I still think about them quite frequently! Definitely do yourself a favor and stop in here. The service is also excellent, fast and super friendly!
