Karim's Orient Experience - Rochdale

Seems not to have survived the pandemic. There was a delivery takeaway menu and service for a while but the sit down eatery itself appears to have closed its doors for good. Great pity. It was a good place and especially good value.

I’ve been dining in to Karim for almost 5 years never had a problem maybe a few troubles but it’s understandable the staffs are great the greeter character is always on point with the sword and everything I’ve started doing takeouts in Karim and the food is still the same as when you dine in thank you very much karim.

I went on 19/2/2020 to treat my wife for her birthday, i had last visited around 9 years ago and never had a bad experience before. I went for the early bird 5-7pm option. We were met by a 'Greeter ' in fancy dress, his english was really bad and his manners were even worse. He was very abrupt and not pleasant man at all, telling me and my wife to 'SIT ' after leading us towards a table. My wife and I just brushed this off as his lack of english, mid way into our dinner, he came over to the table and proceeded to ask us where we were from, at the time it was only me and my wife at the restaurant, the place was deserted, and i can understand why because the food was not good at all, very watery curries and no tastless food. Anyway, i found this man 's questioning strange and invasive, i asked him why he was carrying a sword around his waste, he said if i did not behave, he would use it on me. I found this reply highly offensive and threatening. I will not be going back, if only because of this man 's behaviour.

Me and the Mrs went in last night valentine night for the first time really enjoyed it nice food plenty of choice, the staff are really nice and friendly I hope the staff and managers and owners read my review, they are a credit to the restaurant and it makes for a nice atmosphere I would highly recommend to friends and family we will be back such a nice place well done.

We returned to Karim's after a break of about 5 years to find that it absolutely lived up to our memories of it as a really great experience for everyone. Going on a Saturday evening we weren't sure what the make up of the clientelle would be, but basically everyone was there in a good way; families from 1 91, groups of young men, people on dates, and me and my adult daughters. We had a smashing time, loved every delicious morsal. The salads and veggie dishes were delicious, but there wasn't a huge choice for vegetarians
