Bidrage med feedbackRevised 02/14/2022 Great little full service market in Grandin Village. Firstly, the parking, including accessible slots, is along the building's side, a few steps outside the door fantastic! The bulk spices, teas and dried herbs are better and less expensive than anything available in the usual small supermarket boxes. Box items like macaroni and cheese are similar to those sold in large grocery stores. However, diligent perusal of shelves shows, much to my delight, items like macaroni with pumpkin and sweet potatoes. For me, the highlight of a shopping trip to the Co Op s the tiny bakery section at the rear of the stores. The area around the bakery has recently been converted to a hot dish and salad bar. Items are available by scale weight for eat in at the front of the store or take out. The bakery still carries everything from delicious bread to sweets like scones and cookies. The Co Op also carries a good assortment of standard grocery store fare, most of what is available on any given day, is organic and some portion may be GMO. I am happy to say that my recent shopping visit to the Co Op showed radical changes in the Produce section. My attached photos show that leafy Greens are now under an intermittent sprinkler system that keeps them dewy fresh. Other highly perishable items are displayed on refrigerated shelves. Root veggies and and fruits with thick skins like apples and citrus are attractively and enticingly displayed. Floral bouquets showed some improvement, but quality is still lacking for the price charged.
I think people assume that this store is going to be more expensive because of the location. If you typically buy higher quality groceries then it really isn't. If you don't try to buy organic or local you might be disappointed. The produce is consistently of better quality than the major chains, especially the fruit/berries. We don't live near Grandin but we like to shop here when we're in the area to grab some fresh fruit and a few specialty items.
I like the co-op. Nice selection of quick and easy vegan meals and gluten free options. I tend to go on my lunch break. Also great natural product selection for body and home.
I love browsing through the co-op and some terrific finds at times! Nice food/salad and smoothie bar too. Bulk dry items and spices although trimmed down I suppose due to supply shortages. Watch for Flash sales too, avocados on special every Thursday (hope that’s right). Enjoyable shopping experience and the customer service is top notch every time!
So great to have a store with so many varieties of Organic and NON GMO foods. Love this place. Always clean, and they have the best produce bags. I know that sounds silly, but they're amazing and of good quality. They also sell organic heirloom seeds, and lots of organic herbs and oils.
