Bidrage med feedbackGood Japanese food for a very reasonable price is what Donburi promises. I had a bowl with beef, skewers, and pork katsu for less than 200 and that's was a great deal already! Food was so good and am really impressed with the price and quality. Service is also good. Theres an ice cream stall beside but that's another story. Didnt like that that much.
Ordered kani salad and takoyaki from your new branch here at Ayala Tower One and guess what? They made the kani salad right in front of my eyes (cool, right? but that's not it. The crew made it with his bare hands! No gloves! No washing of hands before food preparation. Please train your staff proper handling of food.
Located at Archer's Nook along Taft Avenue near the corner of Estrada Street, Donburi Mix is a good alternative to Tokyo Tokyo just a couple of blocks away. Dining area is spacious but the lighting can be a little dim. Red and black are a predominant color so staying long can give a little strain to your eyes. Prices are student friendly but a little on the upscale since ranges can go between 100 to 150pesos. I wanted to try out the 95pesos Ramen but it was not available during my time of visit. Settled for Katsudon instead. Self service but staff are friendly. For a Wednesday lunch, place was quiet. Only 3 diners. The pork was thick considering it was only 105pesos which was a surprise. Quite a filling meal. The sauce was a little too sweet, good thing the rice was plenty and so is the egg. WiFi was fast. Recommended.
Affordable and yummy japanese food (plus a bonus fiorgelato outlet inside bc no meal's done til dessert! the place is big and spacious (waiting game here is weak lol and it's very frequent na you need to wait for your turn to be seated kasi it's big enough to accommodate 20 people or more (approx and they have long tables for big groups. I just dont like na you have to wait for like 20 mins for your food to be served while seeing people (i assume they're cooks bc they have toque blanche or the white hats chefs wear na nasa counter nagchichikahan
During my high school years, I used to frequent this area a lot. It has changed through the years and even if I don't envy the traffic jam and other stuff, I somewhat envy the students in the area nowadays because they have something like this here. The prices of the food is reasonable(true value for money), the staff is courteous and the food tastes great. The place, even if it's a fast food compound(along with Mr Halo-Halo Cafe and Fiorgelato) is very clean. Students and professionals enjoy eating here, as I have observed. Going back to the food, when I saw the prices, I told myself that they probably used ingredients that are just so, so. When I tasted the food, it seemed like they only used the best so it's a wonder how they could bring down the prices like that. Of course as business people they would still think of profit and I'm sure they still have some markup, but at least they are not greedy and they care for their customers, especially their target market. How does the food taste? High quality Japanese food that was made affordable.
