Zen Street - Riverside

Upon arriving, I was greeted with silence—no one acknowledged me, and there was no interaction whatsoever. I had to place my order myself at a kiosk. After taking my number, I found a seat. The ramen I ordered was disappointing; it contained just two small pieces of meat, the mushrooms were stale, and the broth lacked any real flavor. At nearly $20 a bowl, this place is not worth it. I decided to give it another chance after a previous bad experience, and unfortunately, it was still underwhelming. I definitely wouldn't recommend it—it's just an overrated hipster spot.

I've been visiting this restaurant since it opened, and the owner often handles the cooking herself. The food has been delicious from the very beginning. I always leave feeling satisfied and happy! I hope she continues to thrive for many years to come!

You can order directly from your table using a QR code or at a kiosk. I decided on the tonkotsu ramen with extra egg, seaweed, and mushrooms, and it was fantastic. I also ordered some tempura mushrooms, and let me tell you, they were amazing! I will definitely return to try more items. I highly recommend ordering the Yuzu tea with butterfly pea flower – it’s so refreshing and delicious!

One star off as the takoyaki tastes nothing authentic and is too sweet. Like a wet sweet dough topped with honey mayo. The ramens are tasty and beautiful under the sunset from window seats. Volcanic ramen is savory but too heavy for me. I ordered the sober ramen (lots of veggies!! .

The atmosphere was in fact very zen. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because no one greeted us upon arrival and the way you have to order is through QR code and either our phone service or the link was super slow. After trying multiple times to order finally someone came out to take our order. The food was delicious. We ordered the mushrooms tempura, the shrimp tempura, pot stickers, teriyaki chicken with fried rice, falling Ramen and the volcanic Ramen. The Ramen was my favorite. The mushroom tempura was cold in the middle.
