Huckleberry's Breakfast Lunch

Food was okay, the Mississippi wasn’t seasoned but some salt and pepper helped it. I asked for ranch and a side of strawberries with my chicken and waffles, the ranch was forgotten and the side of strawberries were in a little 2oz sauce container. Food did come out fast so that wasn’t the problem. our server was nowhere to be found after we got our food. No check backs asking if everything was okay, I even had to ask a different server for to go boxes and I also had to stand at my table just to be able to get my check . (I rarely leave bad reviews but I work in another restaurant myself so I am very understanding however the service here needs to be worked on asap, she didn’t even crack one smile)

The mimosas was amazing ! I got the strawberry. I had pancakes bacon and scrambled cheese eggs. It was all very tasty and I love the pancakes . Really good breakfast place . Will

The chicken salad was delicious. The portion was more than I expected. The hostess was great.There were four seniors with separate tickets, Huckleberries would only let one person get the senior discount.

Starting with the menu, lots of options… however; what are their specialties?? We ordered several different options but nothing wowed us. The onions and peppers on the red potatoes for breakfast were scorched, they didn’t resemble anything but burnt toppings on the potatoes. Then the crab cakes for the eggs Benedict were extremely fishy. It took away from enjoying the meal. Pancakes were chewy. I’ll stop there on the food, coffee was surprisingly good and also the vanilla cappuccino latte was delicious. Service was nice and prompt… only bad thing was the food was so slow to come out of the kitchen the waitresses couldn’t apologize enough to some of our surrounding customers. The floors were sticky throughout the entrance and walkways to and from tables and bathrooms were dirty. Sorry I didn’t take pictures.

First time at Huckleberries today!And it was an almost perfect experience!It 's a nice little cozy cabin looking type of restaurant. Just gives me camping by the campfire vibes. It 's nice.Had to wait about 5 minutes before we even saw anyone to seat us though. No one upfront.But we finally got a table in the back of the restaurant, and noticed the floor by our table was super sticky. Then noticed the floors by many of the tables were messy, food crumbs and little pieces of trash. Like they just brush the stuff from the tables onto the floor after a customer leaves? Kind of a turn off, but at least it 's the floor. Lol.Tables were clean. Window had a little hand and lip print on them too. Lol Got our menus, than we kinda got forgotten about I think, because it took the one waitress like 15 mins to come back and take our orders.My husband ordered the chicken and waffles with a caramel macchiato.I got some biscuits and gravy with a side of bayou potatoes.Food came out in a decent amount of time,And it was the highlight of the visit, as it should have been lol.My husband just fell in love with his chicken and waffles! So did I, he gave me a bite. :)Chicken was so tender and juicy, had such a nice flavor to it, waffles were fluffy and soft with a slight crisp, they put a big scoop of their amazing maple pecan butter on top with sriracha sauce drizzled all over, green onions and bacon sprinkled on top too! It was just the awesomeness! Lol 10/10My biscuits and gravy were comforting!Soft fresh biscuits and creamy thick gravy, great flavors! 8/10Potato 's were cooked to perfection, tender but lacking salt, it 's okay I 'd rather add my own salt anyway. And the bell peppers and red sauteed onions were also tender and cooked well. 9/10Everything was served hot too! 10/10Plus portions were big.Great prices too!The caramel macchiato was amazing, not overly sweet like you 'd think.That huckleberry tea was so refreshing! I think they add blueberry puree or something, it had real blueberries in it and it was just so good, I actually got a to go cup to take it with me!So the place wasn 't to crowded at all, maybe 4-5 tables were filled with families.2 waiters on duty.But we still managed to experience slow service. Not only did they forget to take our order for the first 15 min when we first sat down, but we also had to sit there another 15 mins after we were done eating, waiting for our check and a couple of to go containers. My husband finally had to get up to go look for one of the waiters, which he said he found in kitchen area, on her phone, on a personal call. Lol It 's all good, we 've had worse service than that else where and both the waitresses were so polite, so it truly wasn 't all that bad. Maybe just hire more help? LolBottom line is that the food was satisfying and that 's the main part.Would definitely return, slow service and all!
