I Calanchi Country - RIPATRANSONE

This hotel is great, nestling on top of a hill, the staff are great and really well informed about the local area. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast and the evening meal were both of a high standard

The worst food we ever ate in Italy and the owner doesn't care. Obviously, the chef is eather an apprentice or incompetent.

We stayed at Il Calanchi hotel two years agp and had a great stay. Staff were wonderful and the dining experience was excellent . We returned last Friday just for a meal. The setting for the restaurant outside is stunning, fantastic views, lovely gardens, great music. a wonderful place to sit and have dinner on a warm balmy evening. However the food was awful. Nothing like what we experienced two years ago. The menu was limited, basic and uninspiring. Mains shoulder of beef, chicken or monkfish. We chose the chicken with orange and baby carrots. There was no sides on the menu so we asked for some potato chips. we were informed the chef could only do grilled potatoes. Just as well we asked for the sides. The chicken was flat and bland with only some orange squeezed on it as we had some pips!! No evidence of any seasoning. The carrots were nowhere to be seen. The grilled potatoes were still hard. The tiramisu was the worst we have had in any restaurant in Italy. It was like a very sloppy blancmange which we didn't eat. The chef must be an amateur and has really let down this restauarant. The waiter staff were all excellent shame they have to serve such poor food. We live in the area and would like to return at some time in the future as the setting is so lovely. However we will not return until we see some favourable feedback on tripadvisor including the change of chef. As a recommendation in the area try Pepe Nero in Cupra Marittima old town. The food is amazing.

Nice place to spend a romantic weekend surrounded by greenery. very clean rooms and wonderful staff friendly pool and very professional

Ideal location to visit the beautiful villages of of offida, aquaviva, ripatransone enjoying the local cuisine and the Riviera of the palm trees.
