Bidrage med feedbackThe vegan options at this restaurant are no longer completely vegan, with only a few items available now. This information is updated from my previous review on September 30, 2022.
Kyoto Cafe offers a variety of vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options clearly labeled on their menu. This makes it a great choice for groups with different dietary preferences. The vegan sushi was not only beautifully presented but also delicious. The agadashi tofu and gyoza were also very good. The service is friendly and welcoming, and there is both indoor and outdoor seating available. The location at Eastland, opposite the station, is convenient as well.
Delicious vegan Japanese dishes served with a friendly demeanor. The staff at this cafe located in Town Square at Eastland Shopping Centre are very welcoming. Please note that between 3pm and 5pm, some items may not be available on the takeaway menu. Vegan options are clearly marked, and the staff are knowledgeable about vegan ingredients.
I received a big welcome when I arrived here for lunch. I ordered the teriyaki tofu steak $18) and the vegetable gyoza $9.80). The tofu was neither huge nor cheap, but its syrupy sauce made me feel full to a fault. The gyoza were OK taste-wise, but the filling appeared to be mainly made from frozen diced mixed vegetables. I can imagine that if I’d added rice this would’ve been enough for two people with smaller appetites than mine. I am curious to try out a few other menu items some time, while being conscious of the price point of this restaurant.
It is as Japanese as in melbourne. the variety of things on the menu is limited, but there are also cakes and drinks, so it is not too bad overall.
