Visited on Feb 14 it’s my second time here, I first visited in 2023 in mid Spring. The owners or workers are obviously Asian, not sure if they are new management but this is why I came back because the food is extremely delicious!!! I live in another town about 30 minutes driving distance and I come all the way down here to Famous Wok because all the other Chinese food restaurants don’t even come close to Famous Wok which is comparable to NYC Chinese food. There is one other good one that’s in Geneva but Famous Wok is closer to me. There’s a restaurant called Panda Express in NYC and Famous Wok tastes similar to Panda Express which is a very popular restaurant in NYC. I highly recommend Famous Wok because the food is very, very good! Not over cooked, not burned, not stale but just excellent tasting food reasonably priced; two plates with two eggrolls only $31! Whoever reads this, you must try Famous Wok, you won’t regret it!
I'm not sure what these reviewers have experienced...Before the revamp, I quite liked the place. Since the revamp, I have to try to think of other places to get lunch, but most times I just end up back here. The orange chicken spicy garlic chicken are my absolute go-to picks. Solid every single time.Never complained about the amount of food I'm given. Sometimes it's a bit too much lol maybe I get special treatment as a repeat customer. Not sure. But I'll continue giving my money.
This place now has 2 sizes? A pint and a styrofoam to go box. I got a pint for $9 of I thought was sesame chicken, which were these tiny tid bits, sauce resembled sesame chicken, and the 3/4 of lo mein. The lo mein had a weird taste of shrimp but I'm pretty sure it's supposed to be vegetable. Half way into eating it I gotten a mouth full of bullion. Complete salt. It was terrible!
Famous woks sesame chicken and lo mein used to be my favorite in all of Rochester! For over a decade. Same owner. Same recipe. Now some Spanish people work there and it tastes terrible!!!! I'm really sad about this
