Bidrage med feedbackI completely forgot that I had written a review about this restaurant, but after trying out several Shanghainese restaurants, both good and bad, I have to say that this one stands out.
The XLB's (Xiao long baos) at this restaurant used to be amazing, but now they are only average at times.
While the restaurant may not be the most visually appealing due to its location in the mall's food court, their Shaolin Bao or Shanghai Dumplings are incredibly tasty!
So it is located in one of the busiest food court in Richmond, Parker Place. This Shanghainese gem is surrounded by many fine cheap eats. The Shanghainese wonton soups is a must, home-made wontons. Shanghainese Chicken noodle soup is also very good. Soup dumplings are so-so, spring rolls are good but oily. Steamed veggie buns are also very tasty. Oh, don't miss the tea eggs! Overall, there are many interesting items on the board to choose from. Sadly, my stomach is only this BIG to sample all of them.
The setting is the noisy and crowded Parker Place food court on No. 3 Road in Richmond, but the food from Shanghai Goodies makes it worthwhile. The Cha jiang mian (Spicy Meat Sauce with Noodles) is great with just the right amount of chili heat in the spicy tasty meat sauce. Their Pan-Fried Scallion Pancakes are the best I've had. Other wonderful dishes include Shanghai-Style Fried Thick Noodles, and Pan-Fried Pork Dumplings. If you are a fan of Chinese, especially Shanghainese food, you won't find more authentic and delicious fare in Canada or the US than what Shanghai Goodies has to offer. The food court is busiest from around 11:30am until the end of the lunch hour at around 1:30pm.
