Bidrage med feedbackI have been hooked on Pho soup for a couple of years. this was one of the best. I will be back at least once a week. I haven't tried any of the other dishes , it is the soup I am after. I think it like 7 bucks for a large salad bowl size serving. I would have like a little more meat in the soup however. Either way I'll be back it so flavourful.
Delicious pho, reasonably priced, great value, nice selection, excellent friendly service- I will return.
This particular Vietnamese restaurant is located on Cambie Road in the Continental Plaza next to the bank. Since I was doing banking anyways and it was lunchtime, I decided to go next door for lunch. The 2 of us arrived around 12:15 on this Wednesday afternoon and there were 8-10 people in the restaurant at the time. The restaurant is clean and has a modern looking interior. One side of the room had tables and the other side booths. We sat on the table side and noticed all the tables had built-in burners in the table top. Previous existence was a hotpot restaurant? My spouse and I ordered 3 dishes to share:• Cha Gio (spring rolls) - $2.95• Banh mi thit nuong (grilled pork sandwich) - $4.95• #18 – Pho tai nam gau gan sach (round eye steak, brisket, flank, tendon & tripe) - $9.95Pho dishes were $8.70 for a small and $9.95 for a large; probably on par price-wise with the Pho Hoa chain of Vietnamese restaurants but more expensive than the Thai Son chain. For example the Thai Son house special that contains a bit of every beef protein costs $7.95 for a large and $6.85 for a small.Spring rolls were average tasting and small size-wise – disappointing. The banh mi was just okay; nothing spectacular. The filling for the sandwich left a lot to be desired – a little skimpy on the pork meat. However, my spouse commented on how fresh and tasty the baguette was.The pho was okay; nothing to complain about. Both of us did not have “dry mouth syndrome” normally associated with the use of the flavour enhancer MSG.The total bill came to $18.74 before tips. The service was okay. The food was served within an acceptable time.Overall, I would rate the service as acceptable / average as was the food - 3 out of 5 for taste and value / portion size.Notes and Tips:• Seating for 42 patrons • The restaurant’s baguettes are made by a bakery.• Check out the website but there are no menus on the site.• There were 2 types of hot sauces available – chilli oil and siracha sauce.• Separate washrooms for men and women but I would say it is not wheelchair accessible – very small. Men’s washroom was clean.• We had come to the Pho Ho a week earlier after being frustrated with the lack of parking at the Thai Son restaurant on Garden City Road. It was around lunchtime and there were only 1 or 2 customers at the Pho Ho and we decided not to go in figuring it was a sign that the restaurant wasn’t good. We eventually went back to Thai Son for a late lunch. See my review of Thai Son restaurant.• We have been to the Continental Plaza on 2 other occasions to eat. See my reviews of Gyo O Japanese restaurant and Dragon View Chinese Cuisine
I only come here for the banh beo. The rest of the food is okay, nothing exceptional.
I have visited this restaurant on multiple occasions, and it is always busy.
