Bidrage med feedbackAs for the service, it was a bit slow, with our food arriving approximately 10-15 minutes after ordering, and a maximum wait time of 20 minutes. The interior design felt cramped, but it had a unique and fun vibe. Overall, I’d rate the food a 3.5 out of 5, mainly due to the excessive oiliness.
This is a pretty good Hong Kong-style café that offers many of the dishes I look for, including baked rice, black pepper dishes, cream-based options, Portuguese-style meals, and various tomato sauce dishes. The prices are very reasonable. I would rate it around 4 to 4.5 stars, but I was thrilled to finally find the black pepper sauce flavor I've been searching for. The service may not be the best (it’s typical of Hong Kong-style dining) and can feel a bit rushed since it's a small restaurant, but the food and milk tea were both very good. There's not much more to ask for. I would love to return and try more dishes besides just dinner.
Among all the Hong Kong eateries in Richmond, this one stands out as our favorite. We had to stay at the hotel next door due to a pipe burst, which gave us the chance to explore their extensive menu. The food is fresh and delicious, served in generous portions, and the prices are very reasonable. They also offer a complimentary hot drink and a 10% discount for takeout orders. We found the owner and staff to be professional and friendly, clearly valuing customer service to foster repeat business and positive word-of-mouth—something that's rare in many Asian restaurants. Additionally, they accept debit cards for added convenience. This place is truly a hidden gem, and we were happy to support this family-run business.
Peaches is a lively Hong Kong-style Chinese restaurant and one of my favorite spots in Richmond. The food there, especially the baked rice, is the best I've ever had! I highly recommend it!
Has there been a change in ownership or chef? I remember before the pandemic there was a dish called 清湯牛腩. It was quite pricey for a bowl, but worth every penny due to the chef's skillfulness and the abundance of unique ingredients and flavors. Fast forward to 2022, and what do we have now? A practically 大排檔-style 牛腩河 for $15 CAD. While it does taste authentically Hong Kong, it's no better than what you’d find on the streets of Kowloon for $16 HKD a bowl, and certainly falls short compared to the $24 HKD offerings from Yuen Long. To make matters worse, there were only six small pieces of brisket in the bowl… for $15 CAD. This deserves a 3-star rating. The reason I rated it higher than 1 star is that the other dishes I tried were on par with what the previous chef produced. Otherwise, the 牛腩河 is simply a joke.
