Bidrage med feedbackThe restaurant at Mayfair Lakes is in a beautiful setting with a great view of the golf course with the mountains in the background. We had dinner on the patio on Friday evening. It was a nice sunny day and the patio is a great place to relax and have a nice meal. The patio was very busy. During the summer months they have live entertainment from 4:00 – 7:00 on Fridays. The singer/ guitar player Wes was very good and we enjoyed the live music during our meal. He played a good selection of songs and has a very good voice. It was nice background music and not overly loud. The service was decent considering how busy the patio was. We did have a long wait for our dessert though. We shared a couple of wine flights. They were $17.00 for 3 3 oz. pours and they had some decent wines to choose from. We shared an appetizer of garlic shrimp with garlic bread. It was very good. For entrees I had pork schnitzel that was supposed to be in a creamy mushroom demi glaze with potatoes and red cabbage. This was probably a poor choice because I had wiener schnitzel the previous week at a very good German restaurant. The creamy mushroom demi glaze was more like a brown gravy with just 1 small slice of mushroom. The schnitzel itself although generous in size was very dry and not very good. My husband had chicken parmesan served with linguine with sautéed spinach, tomatoes and garlic. His entrée was better than mine. For dessert we shared an apple pie with ice cream. The food although reasonably priced was just okay. Portions are a decent size. It is a beautiful setting, the live music was a lovely way to relax and enjoy a nice evening. It’s too bad the food did not live up to our expectations.
The restaurant is located in Mayfair Gulf country club , one of the top ten gulf course in Vancouver . just finished a lovely round of gulf with my brother , so we dropped in to there patio restaurant for a bite and relax very space patio , excellent social distance guideline , I believe they have 18 patio tablets around , Happy hours menu very limited , but the all day menu very nice , lot of choices , price very reasonable , great place for hang out , not very busy and not noise at all , we order the chicken wing to share ,my brothers Club House is so big , enough for two to share , love the crispy bacon , and my Chicken Parmesan very flavourful , ,but little too much parmesan , other wise ,every thing great , we never feel rush at all , staff vert friendly , great comfortable place .to catch up the good old days .
Our waitress was very friendly and efficient. Our sandwiches were very good but I happen to like mustard with my burger. I asked for mustard and was quite surprised to be charged for it. I love burgers and have always asked for mustard on the side but this is the first time I was charged for it. You would think that a place like this would not charge for a small tin cup of mustard with an order of a hamburger sandwich.
We were promptly seated with our reservations and although they were busy, there was the right amount of service. The wife's egg benedict was nicely done and my fish and chips was almost perfect, except for the numerous small pieces of chips. Our three friend's told us their meals were very good. All in all, the plates were well presented in a nice place with a great view overlooking the golf course.
After reading the other 8 reviews, we were unsure of what to expect. However, we noticed that the two one-star reviews were written by members of the same family on the same date. We decided to give it a try for lunch and were pleasantly surprised by the large and beautifully decorated dining room with expansive windows offering stunning views of the golf course and mountains. The staff greeted us warmly, seated us promptly, and we ordered a Cobb Salad and a Chicken-Shrimp Clubhouse from the diverse menu. The sandwich was packed with shrimp and the soup served with it was delicious. The Cobb Salad was massive, with a variety of fresh greens, plenty of avocado and tomatoes, a generous serving of blue cheese, and lots of chicken and bacon. It could have easily fed two people. The service was friendly and attentive, and as we left, it was clear that our business was appreciated. We will definitely be coming back!
