They spent 40 minutes to prepare my lunch combo, while there is only me, one customer staying in the table to order food. And I went in there at 12:20, not rushedin at 2:30 if the chef need a rest. Turn out the Chicken Teriyaki is overcooked, the sauces and taste is burnt hhhh. Goodthings?the white rice is fine, others are mediocre and below average. Background music is fashion kpop. Come if you want, Iwon’t. Just speak out my experience.
It's a fave of some people and I can see why, although a hit and miss for me, for the price range....I expect more. Food and servings are alright and ambience is nice.
My wife and I visit this restaurant regularly. The food is consistently excellent, and the service is quick. I would consider it one of the more upscale sushi spots in Richmond, but the quality reflects the price. The fish is always fresh and beautifully prepared.
An exceptional sushi experience. The takeout came beautifully wrapped in a cloth bag. The hotate nigiri was both juicy and sweet, while the foie gras melted in my mouth. The uni was wonderfully creamy, and the salmon miso aburi was not only visually appealing but also delicious. Additionally, the sushi rice had a perfect firm and chewy texture, with just the right balance of vinegar and sweetness. Although the prices are a bit higher, the quality is definitely worth it.
As someone who doesn’t eat meat, the only Donburi bowl suitable for me was the Unagi Don, priced at $19.50, which definitely wasn't what I would consider affordable. I then looked at the sushi rolls and was shocked to see an avocado roll priced at $7.95! I love avocado rolls, but $7.95 seemed excessive. Fortunately, I found one option that satisfied both my cravings and my budget: Tenzaru Soba for $13.95. It included several pieces of tempura, soba noodles, a dipping sauce, and a quail egg. I had been wanting zaru soba for quite some time, and I sighed with contentment as I enjoyed my meal. Ajishou has plenty of interesting options on the menu and seems like a nice spot for a splurge. However, given my situation that day, I was just looking for a modest, tasty, and affordable meal before picking up my child from her activity. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone on a budget—unless, like me, you’re willing to settle for the Tenzaru Soba. I must say it was quite good, and the menu features some very appealing items, making it a great option for a special occasion! **Service:** Good **Parking:** Free and plentiful **Location:** It’s located within the Central at Garden City complex, which also houses Walmart and various other shops and restaurants. Lansdowne Centre is just a short drive away.
