Afuri Ramen Dumpling - Richmond

Every time I’ve stopped by Izumiya, Ive thought about going to Afuri. I finally made it in and was a little underwhelmed.I think that we are spoiled in the Vancouver area with our Ramen restaurants and the Ramen, Gyoza and Donburi at Afuri are just so-so for the price point. I had the special cold chicken yuzu tsukemen and while the flavours were fine, the portions were small. Usually ramen places leave you full and satisfied and this just wasn’t the case. The pork buns on the kids menu were good, but a little chewy for kids.

The parking lot is large so you don't have to worry about parking. The restaurant is bright and spacious, but the privacy of the seats is not very good. It's easy to eat face to face with other people.The presentation of ramen here is relatively new, so it is not suitable for those who like traditional ramen.

One of the great Ramen places we’ve had. The Tonkotsu Shio’s broth was so rich, yet not overwhelming. The noodles were perfect, from the elasticity of the noodles, to the flavor! Their karaage is by far the best I have tried so far. Sauce for the takoyaki was delicious! Location looks well kept and very nice! Great service.Will definitely recommend this!

This ramen place looks like a converted warehouse but the food is excellent. We ordered the crispy gyoza, chicken karaage don and the shio yuzu ramen. The gyoza was crispy tasty and in mayo and chili sauce. The thin ramen noodles were nice and chewy in a citrus soy broth. The karaage was crunchy and flavored with 5 spice. We had a miso cookie matcha ice cream sandwich for dessert. The savory saltiness of the miso cookie blended well with the sweet matcha ice cream. Excellent

Cute lil place that’s slightly tucked away. They had quite a few vegan options which was nice to see! I had the hazelnut ramen and the agedashi tofu. Love love loved the ramen. Its on the slightly pricier side however very comparable to many other ramen places that offer vegan options. The broth was super rich and nutty. I would like to try the vegan rice bowl they offer next time. And service was very friendly also :
