Bidrage med feedbackWe were there for lunch. The restaurant is very traditional but the service was not very friendly. The food was good but nothing exceptional. The location of the Restaurant is good in the middle of the city.
This place is rated in the Michelin Guide. We dropped in at 11:15am to make a 1 o’clock reservation for two in person. We spoke in our (not very good) French and got the reservation, no problem. The chef was out of the kitchen at this time, and I had a little joke with him and madam about my poor French. All very friendly. We returned at 12:55 for the table. Chef was again out in the restaurant, chatting to customers. He gave me a smile and nod of recognition. I wondered at the time whether the chef might actually spend any time at all in the kitchen, but anyway.... I approached madam with a little wave. She looked at me as if I had just landed from Mars. “Avez vous un reservation?”, she demanded. Now, I cannot believe that she did not recall my face from 90 minutes earlier. The chef certainly did. I cannot think of a more insulting greeting. Anyway, I gave my name. She did not check her book, but motioned us to the worst remaining free table in the place. By the way, it is a tiny restaurant, and at the time it had 50% occupancy. The table she offered was joined to an existing pair of diners, and was about 2-feet square. We politely asked if we could sit elsewhere, as none of the other free tables had reserved signs on them. This was met with a flat unsmiling and unexplained refusal. This woman is without doubt the rudest and most inhospitable person I have ever encountered in the restaurant trade. We left without eating. This place feels it can do as it wishes, as there will always be another bunch of tourists in town tomorrow. Shame on them! I am writing to the Michelin about this.
La maison chaleureuse nous a tout de suite attirée. Le décor est avec des "fresques historiques" sur les murs mais ce n'est pas un musée et c'est très convivial.J'ai noté la touche locale: les chemins de tables sont en tissus kelsch alsacien! L'accueil était parfait. il faisait très chaud nous avons pris des salades raffinées, copieuses et savoureuses;
