Bidrage med feedbackSecond time I’ve stopped here while cycling on the Taff Trail from Cardiff. This is a small cosy cafe just across a busy road from Ynysangharad Park. Previously just had a coffee: Recommend the cappuccino, excellent standard. This time, as a longer ride I needed to refuel on the return leg from Merthyr so decided to order food. Coffee excellent as ever, second time around and ordered a savoury waffle with cheese, eggs and sausage. Took a while to arrive surprisingly as only 4 other customers. However was pretty good standard fare and filled a gap. Staff were really friendly and may well call in again on future rides.
The food at The Vegan Jo is incredible, especially when enjoyed with their delicious peanut sauce. The service is outstanding and they do a great job communicating through social media. The added bonus of an NHS discount is fantastic.
A cosy, welcoming place on the edge of Ponty's park and handily on the Taff Trail. The friendly new owners have created the best burgers I've ever had (F.A.B. and the breakfast menu is really good too. Great place for meetings or chilling out.
I was really disappointed with this restaurant. They only offered breakfast options at lunchtime, and it was one of the worst breakfasts I have ever had. The bacon was greasy and undercooked, making me feel queasy for the rest of the day. I heard they have new owners now, and it's such a shame.
This is the third time I've given this a place a chance as sitting in on two occasions was terrible (even though we had booked weeks in advance, they had no selection left to choose from). We thought we'd give them one last chance with a mother's day collection to take away... We had ordered 7 meals on a Thursday to be collected at 3pm on a Sunday, but when we got there nothing was ready and had to wait 25 minutes. When we finally got home to sit down and eat, we fount only 5 meals and everything had to be cooked at home (not a take away). Having gone back to get the remainder of our meal the staff were less than helpful and the owner hadn't even apologised for the mix up. If we had known the food was to be cooked ourselves that would've been fine, but we were not told. However, having had 5 of the 7 meals (with no gravy) and no veg to go with a roast dinner, it was very disappointing. The redeeming factor of the experience was that the food itself was lovely, even though it was 50% cabbage...
