Bidrage med feedbackFinally made it to Gigi and we were very pleased. Service was good, not over the top friendly, but efficient. We tried a variety of menu items, and everyone was pleased with their choices. The artichoke appetizer had great flavor, the calamari was tasty (but I will say the portion was very small considering the price), and the Sicilian cauliflower was a hit. If you don 't like thin-crust pizza, then the skizza isn 't for you. VERY thin, but very flavorful. The space is very nice, with a small dining room up front near the bar and then tables in a back room. Glad we finally made it!
This review is only about service and how horrible it was. No bread service. When entree was brought by food runner our app plates were still in front of us. Never asked how anything was. Never refilled water glasses once. Never asked if we wanted another round of drinks. Someone accidentally spilt a glass at the table and I watched him look at the table and look away without offering to help the situation. Food was good. Shame the FOH ruined it.
We recently had an unforgettable 80th birthday celebration for my Mom at Gigi's, and it exceeded all expectations! If you're in search of the perfect venue with a private dining room in Rhinebeck, Gigi's is the ultimate choice. Our experience began with the incredibly helpful owner Laura, who made setting up the event a breeze. She presented us with a multitude of options for our private dining menu, ensuring everything was tailored to our preferences. The planning phase was exceptionally smooth, thanks to her guidance. Upon our arrival, we were immediately struck by the splendid ambiance of the private dining room. Holly, our dedicated waitstaff, deserves special mention for her outstanding service. She anticipated our needs flawlessly, ensuring that we never had to ask for anything. Her attentiveness added a layer of comfort to the entire experience. Now, let's talk about the food and drinks an integral part of any celebration. Gigi's delivered on all fronts. Their cocktails, including the Negroni, Martinis, and Mojitos, were expertly crafted and served chilled to perfection. The charcuterie board, featuring an array of meats, cheeses, and grilled veggies, was a delightful start to the evening. And, of course, the Tuscan fries with their delectable dipping sauces were a crowd pleaser. We followed with an arugula salad that was both fresh and flavorful. The highlight of the evening was the main course Tagliatelle Bolognese, a personal favorite of our Mom's. It was nothing short of culinary perfection, leaving us all savoring every bite. If you're looking to create lasting memories during a special dinner event, Gigi's is the place to be. Our birthday celebration couldn't have been more perfect. From the impeccable service to the delectable cuisine, Gigi's truly exceeded our expectations. This was an experience we'll cherish for years to come. Thank you, Gigi's, for making this celebration a truly remarkable one!
We came here on Friday night and sat outside which was great. They have an excellent outdoor front patio that was lively and spacious. The food was very good, we always love eating here. The hanger steak is pretty incredible paired with their equally great Tuscan rosemary fries. My only complaint is always the same...their drinks. Their cocktails are amateurish. With all the good restaurants and bars close by, they need to step up their bartender game. I ordered an Old Fashioned. Although it was served with a large singular ice cube (only after I requested it), the cocktail itself was not what I expect when I order a cocktail. Good food needs a good bartender, find a mixologist!
The best way for me to explain my Gigi’s lunch experience is come for the food, not necessarily the service. My wife had a good first time at Gigi’s and wanted me to try it. The host who seated us didn’t seem very interested in helping us. In fact, we walked by him because he didn’t engage us initially to gauge whether we were eating there. He did seat us outside as requested, but wasn’t very vocal or friendly. Our waiter was great. He was a little slow at providing us the basics like water but we noted it wasn’t due to lack of effort as much as he was helping with tables with many people throughout the outside dining area. However, once we mentioned to him we needed help with those items, he was very proactive about helping. He was very friendly. I ordered the shrimp empanadas for appetizer and tagliatelle bolognese for entrée. The appetizers came quickly but our entrées came after a while. Likely, this was due to what I ordered but I did note individuals that came after us got their food faster than we did. I will say, though, the food here blew me away! The shrimp empanadas were extraordinary! The tagliatelle was perfect and scrumptious! Price-wise, cooked entrées are pricey, but you get what you pay for — exceptional quality. Other items, such as sandwiches, are reasonable for the quality. I typically appreciate the phrase: “Good things come to those who wait.” Great things come from this kitchen. The service on our visit was just a little off.
