Lai Thai Adelaide - Reynella

When they first opened, their food was amazing. We've been a few times since and it seems their recipes have changed, the chef has changed or they are using inferior ingredients. The last 2 times we've been, I've been unimpressed with the food. I've been to Thailand and that is not traditional Thai flavours. It actually seems the spices have been dumbed down to cater for people who don't like flavour! It's really disappointing because I thought I'd found a little gem. Back to the drawing board.

Website does not mention that they do not serve drinks of anykind. Nice little restaurant 20 or so comfortable seats and very clean, serving staff a delight. We started with soup the chilli heat was just right for us a little hot, and the prawns were cooked to perfection. next we had curries my wifes beef was overcooked and despite having a chilly rating was bland. My Chicken had nice tastes and the chicken was cooked right, but again where was the chilli, we eat Thai expecting a good measure of chilli heat. both meals were also only lukewarm and 4 huge boied potates floated in the gravey, not in anyway prepared. All in all a disapointment and not especially cheap

It's ok if you like westernised Thai. Boring and tasteless. Serves are small. I had takeaway so not sure if eating in is any good.

Been here a few times now and the flavours are good. Nice selection on the menu and the staff are friendly. Will be going again.

On approach of this place my expectations were low. It doesn't look inviting but the service was friendly and I felt that the food was above average. The ingredients were fresh and the flavours good. Particular standouts were the chicken satay sticks and massaman beef. Will definitely go again.
