Black Box Pizza - Reykjavik

This restaurant was our first dining experience in Reykjavik, located just a minute's walk from our accommodations. The convenience of ordering directly from our table was fantastic, and the food was not only delicious, but the service was impeccable. The staff were all friendly and helpful, which made us feel welcomed. We ended up coming back to dine here multiple times during our stay. If you're in the mood for great pizza, this is definitely the place to try!

We were excited to visit BlackBox Pizza and had booked a table for Xmas eve many weeks in advance. Unfortunately we arrived on time only to find the restaurant closed, with a number of disappointed customers stood outside, all of which had experienced the same issue. Clearly BlackBox had allowed bookings to be made, despite the fact that they were in fact closed. It would not have been difficult to amend the system or notify those booked in that they would not be able to honour the booking. With the bookings being on Xmas Eve it made seeking alternatives very difficult indeed. I’m sure the food is great, unfortunately we did not get the opportunity to try it.

I visited Blackbox Borgartúni in Reykjavík and ordered the Meat Me pizza. In the past, this pizza has been loaded with meat, but this time it only had 6 pepperonis, less than 1g of ground beef, and a very small amount of bacon, which I thought was only 1/8 of a slice of pork. I mentioned this to the waitress, but she said that they were very busy, even though we were the only customers in the restaurant. I sent them a picture of the pizza on Facebook, but they have not responded in over a week. Very disappointing.

This pizza is the best I've ever had. I only wish we had discovered it earlier. I highly recommend it, especially if you happen to be staying at the hotel cabin.

This pizza place was amazing. Better than expected. The pizza was amazing and the staff was very nice and professional. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for pizza in iceland. We found and ate at this place after traveling four hours to get to Vic, which amazing pizza was a nice benefit after a long trip. You have to try their black crust pizza.
