Bidrage med feedbackThis is a great place the try local chicharrón. Is not a fancy place but for sure it is a greatttt place to taste local typical food. Definitively we will come back.
First off, the food is very typical Colombian food. You will find various cuts of meat, chicharrón is extremely popular) beef, pork, chicken, as well as beans, arepas, and empanadas. The two locations #1 and #2) have the same owners and number two is a bit larger. This is a literal side of the road restaurant that’s is not fancy but has really good food. 1 is located close to “Don Diego” and 2 is closer to “La Fe”. The service is usually very good, prices are moderate but the quality of the food is a bit better than what you might expect.
I always try to stop here when in the area. The chicharron and empanadas are just great. In additional they sell freash local farm produce, so this is the place to buy your fruit and vegetables. Parking can be difficult at times. Staff always friendly.
A Colombian friend from Medellin drove us here for lunch one afternoon to taste some of the best food in the area as we were not disappointed. This restaurant is frequented by locals from all over the region and after we tasted the food we could see why! It is known for its Chicharrones (fired pork rinds) and has won awards for the best in the entire area. All I can say is that it was simply amazing. We had never tasted Chicharrones as good as these. This is a grill restaurant and orders are taken quickly and are served just as quickly. If you want to have some of the best grilled meats and home made Arepas in the Medellin area we strongly suggest you give this restaurant a try. We would without hesitation return here again.
It doesn't get more authentic than this. This is the real paisa food and great prices. Another restaurant Queareparaenamorarte has the same food for 3 times the price. Their menu of the day is 10,000 COP and comes with fresh juice, soup, rice or potatoes or fries, selection of meat pork or beef, large salad, half a fried plantain and a large bowl of soup. This is almost too much food to eat for one person. Local beers are 2500 and they take Visa and MasterCard. They have 2 locations one near Don Diego and one on Las Palmas near KM25.
