Bidrage med feedbackWe were here at the beginning of the season (Dec 2011) so it was pretty empty but I assume it can quickly get full in high season. It was recommended to us by people in the local sauna and they were right... I had mozzarella...salad as a starter, stuffed poultry (or something like this) as the main dish and an amazing assortment of deserts. All was a great culinary experience, which many good restaurants in Europe capitals would find hard to beat. We simply didn't expect this in a village like Wagrain. We were served by the owner (a kind lady with good English) and had some nice German wine to go with the food. It was a perfect place for us.
3rd visit to the Grafenwirt and for the 3rd time we had a fantastic time ... The owners, Evelyn and Hans are so great people, so proud of serving high quality food ... The set menu at only 34 euros is yet another wonder, including...amuse bouche, stater and soup and a main dish and dessert ! The fish was absolutely fantastic, cooked to perfection and served with a delicious black risotto ! The wine list offers a very good choice of austrian and foreign wines ! Don't hesitate to try the tasty austrian wines ! If u want to spend a great time for lunch or dinner ... No hesitation ... Evelyn will welcome you in the restaurant and Hans in his kitchen ... At a very reasonnable price .. Grafenwirt is THE place to be ...
Not only is the menu nicely arranged, the quality of the food is excellent. The wine list mostly Austrian products which I recommend makes for a great evening as well. The service is friendly and professional. Take your time and do not expect...to be in and out in a hurry if you go for dinner. For lunch the offerings include a 3 course menu. Pretty typical for this part of the world. Worth a try!
Local tasty gourmet food. The restaurant is often very occupied, also with locals. Almost everything we got during 5 days was good to excellent. Salad bar is also very good.
When we were there they offered special Danish dishes on Thursdays. The day we were there the menu was a special Scandinavian take on the Austrian Wiener Schnitzel and it was incredible. I wouldn’t normally classify Wiener Schnitzel as “fine dining” but this one was...something else. And the wine they recommended for it was very interesting as well. If you are looking for a place to have really nice dinner this is in my opinion the best place in Wagrain (and during the 3 months I lived there, I’ve tried a lot of places)
