Amari - Reno

Such a cute little cocktail spot with great ambiance! The bartender had great recommendations and the amari-cano was dangerous! So refreshing and tasty!

I had spritz royale and spritz OG. I love royale. The butterfly pea flower gives it both a beautiful presentation and also a nice floral taste. OG was good as well, but my taste buds like royale more. Will try something else next time!

Amari is my new favorite date night bar! The patio is spacious and welcoming while the tiny indoor lounge is charming and intimate. Once you step onto the patio, it kind of takes you away from the loud, bustly Cheney Street and transports you to a romantic Italian aperitif bar. (Or at least it's what I imagine Italy would be like! My husband and I stopped by on a recent date night after sharing a pizza from a nearby pizzeria and before watching a play at GLM. I absolutely loved the Strawberry Pimm's Cup! The aroma from the sprig of mint and sprig of basil perfectly complimented the fruitiness of the cocktail each time I sipped through the (sturdy paper straw. It was a perfect summer cocktail. Honestly, it is probably the best cocktail I've had in a couple of years. I loved it! But I could only have one since the rest of our date night awaited! I have always walked past Amari to go to their next door neighbor for date night drinks, but this is a little more specialized, a little more unique, a little more romantic. Next date night I will be insisting that Amari is incorporated into the evening some how.

I ordered drinks that I had seen on their Instagram, and the waitress was incredibly accommodating, waiting for my friends to arrive before taking our drink orders. I tried the Spritz Royale and the Italian Rivera, both beautifully presented (almost too pretty to drink!), along with some of their Aperitivo Torres Mediterranean chips. Each of us truly enjoyed what we ordered. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the drinks were refreshingly delicious. Our waitress was also very attentive to us. I can't wait to return as the warm weather continues!

We ended up going to the bathroom, only to discover there were no paper towels available. I noticed both the bartender and server rolling their eyes and laughing as they returned with just one towel for four of us! While they provided new drinks and cleaned up the mess, I had to ask for towels again, and they were dismissive and rude. I saw two other couples get up and leave after witnessing how poorly we were treated, saying they didn’t want to stay. Not a single apology was offered. Save your money and time—don't go to this place!
