Many natives want to get what they know with difficultities try to discard. but here they get a great combination of both: local great dishes with a spoon of something special. and that for me is art. I myself am a native who has seen several places in Europe and the world, where I visited numerous exquisite and basic restaurants. recently I spent a couple of years in a few, which also offers an amazing kitchen, and the “Old Vine” is a great place to get an idea of the delicious German cuisine! even if it is not located on the Rhine, they have a great view of the authentic life of remagen and the Rathaus. Als Vielreisende in Sachen Gourmetessen ist uns das 2 Sterne Restaurant "Hummerstübchen" aus Düsseldorf mit seinem alten Konzept noch gut in Erinnerung. Seinerzeit gab es dort ausschließlich weibliche Servicekräfte die allesamt schwarz gekleidet waren. Das Essen war seinerzeit schon perfekt und die verarbeiteten Produkte ebenso.Mit diesem Background haben Tanja Wolff und Michael Kröner, die beide lange Jahre Teil diese gelungenen "Hummerstübchen" Konzeptes waren, jetzt ihr eigenes Restaurant eröffnet.Wir waren sehr gespannt und wurde in keiner Weise enttäuscht.Professioneller, charmanter Service der Chefin mit kompetenter Beratung bei Wein- und Speisenauswahl. Der Chef hat ein wunderbares Dinner für uns zubereitet. Klasse Timing, beste Zutaten und alles von besonderem Geschmack. Die Speisenkarte ist übersichtlich und nicht übervoll - die Weine gut sortiert und das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist exzellent. Einziger Wermutstropfen sind die pinkfarbenen Papierservietten. Die werden diesem exquisiten Essen nicht gerecht.Man muss also nicht nach Düsseldorf reisen um auf Sterne-Niveau zu essen und schon gar nicht muss man die überhöhten Preise der Modemetropole zahlen.Wir kommen gerne wieder.AD Neuwied
