Bidrage med feedbackDirty tables and smells from the toilets permeating the whole building. Not a wonder that it was virtually empty. Bird poo cover d the garden tables and generally unkept and unloved. Needs management attention and could be very nice.
We stopped here en route to an event in Reigate and were hoping for some lunch. However, we were told there was no kitchen open. I 'm not sure if this is a regular thing as, having checked their website, they have a menu but have 'Closed ' on their kitchen opening times. The pub itself was lovely and welcoming. Price was fairly typical (I think I paid around £4 £5 for vodka and mixer). I particularly liked its hidden outdoor space the rooftop beer garden. The only problem is that it takes a lot of stairs to access it. You 'll need to go up a winding stair case inside the pub and then go up an additional set of (quite steep) steps outside, so it 's definitely not a good choice if you have mobility issues! Overall, I thought this was a well decorated, friendly pub. But if you are planning on eating, I would just make sure you contact the pub first as it was unclear to us why the kitchen was closed.
Really nice to see how empty it is in the market now. Unpopular amidst the other pubs in reigate makes it a pleasant experience. Although the drinks are on the unnecessarily expensive side (it’s Reigate so expected), had a lovely gin with friends. Really quiet evening as the pub isn’t very lively. Good now that it is over 21, but would not recommend for a night out, or a weekend trip. Perfect for a meet up for teaching staff, or office shindig. Avoid the food however, my friends son would work underage cooking chicken, so perhaps dodgy. Staff not too nice. Bearded man incredibly dismissive, and always looking to kick people out it appears, appearing aggressive at times. Glad it has really quietened down, not many people going anymore which is great. Intimate and cosy. Recommended for the middle aged in reigate!
Outstanding staff- Vaz treated me like a Queen Hospitality to me, same as reception work is NOT a job you should ever do unless you -Love ppl -genuinely love chatting to customers -have natural empathy interest in ppl. Since it's such a bugbear to me as an HSP that I regularly encounter ppl in these jobs who very clearly don't fulfil the above bare minimum, i wanted to tk the time to praise Vaz the staff at this charming Reigate local pub. I am 37 weeks preggerz, we popped in for a few drinks to kill time before our train. Vaz was so caring chatty made me feel as if I was the Duchess of Cornwall! A very clear genuine love of people enjoyment in seeing their needs met made as comfty as possible. I wish all pubs reception managers would understand that this is the level of Hospitality TYPE of personality required to mk a 3 or 4 star pub or dinner experience into a 5 star one.... We will be back sometime with baby Willow!
We needed somewhere for a nice family lunch was looking forward to some pub food we ordered chicken burgers which were inedible. It was supposed to be a buttermilk burger the crispy coating was wet and wiped straight off the chicken was a grayish colour and tasted as though it had been cooked on defrost in the microwave. Due to being pregnant was not risking eating this meat and was very disappointed by the money we had wasted eating here. Nice pub for a drink, however would avoid the food.
