We ordered a variety of seafood dishes for a party of seven for takeout. Unfortunately, many items on the menu were unavailable, forcing us to choose alternatives. When we picked up our order, we were handed one bag and told it contained everything, but once we got home, we realized another bag was missing with part of our order. After calling the restaurant, they located the second bag, but we still discovered that one entrée was omitted. I had done a lot of research to find a restaurant with great reviews, so I was very disappointed with Big Fish Seafood Market. All we received was an apology; they didn’t offer any discounts or compensation for their mistakes. It was nothing but frustration, our family couldn’t enjoy a meal together, and I regret wasting my money!
To start, I ordered two mezze platters, and both were missing hummus. The platters were put together randomly and contained different items — one had no olives or artichoke hearts, while the other was overloaded with dried figs. I expected consistency when ordering two identical items. Next, I paid $70 for a chopped salad that was, frankly, just a bowl of about $15 worth of lettuce with a few bits of tomato, cucumber, and corn. I don’t mind paying for the convenience of not having to make it myself, but this felt like a complete rip-off. The grilled vegetable panini platters (I ordered two) are usually a huge hit, but this year they arrived uncut and were extremely soggy. I found myself trying to cut through soggy sandwiches as my guests were arriving. Lastly, I ordered two trays of assorted cookies but received two trays of sugar cookies that were stacked while still hot, resulting in a sticky mess. They couldn’t be separated, and I was shocked to discover there was NO variety at all. To say I’m disappointed would be an understatement. I’m not sure I can trust BFG for catering in the future, and this is truly disheartening. After years of GOOD, QUALITY food at a fair VALUE, this experience was certainly not reflective of that standard. I should add that I’m not normally one to post negative reviews, but after trying to reach out to BFG without any response, I feel it’s important to warn others so they don't find themselves in a similar situation.
Bought a greek salad with shrimp and fried calamari. Tipped 25% at the counter. Had to wait 15-20 minutes so we waited on the patio right in front of the doors. Was then given the wrong order. Once I received the correct order was then told we couldn’t sit there and had to leave because it was for “table service”. Absolutely ludicrous behavior and awful customer service. Food was okay but won’t be going back to the market or restaurant. Lots of better options, with better food and without the nonsense.
Mussels were just ok. Garlic wine sauce was not good.Jambalaya was tasty.Fried oysters were good.
