Kalamare - REGGIO DI CALABRIA

Our concierge recommended this hotel and made a reservation. When we showed up, they didn't have record of the reservation but gave us a table anyways. There was no one in the restaurant but they immediately put the rush on to order food before we had even looked at the menu. We kept asking for a couple of minutes and there were four of them throwing options at us. We decided to just finish our glass of prosecco and go elsewhere; it was too much. I am not sure if the concierge screwed up or if they didn't write down the reservation. Either way, I'd have rathered not be seated at all. The views were beautiful but the staff was too much. Can't speak to the food either but didn't enjoy the experience at all.

I am sorry to read so negative reviews on the restaurant, we ate a calamarata and a really delicious fish fry, the service was celere despite the local was very popular. Beautiful place with platform in the sea really charming

Kalamare, a magical place, where to eat well and abundantly a few steps from the sea. excellent appetizer typically Calabrian, with the first as traditional, and excellent seconds with appetizing meat or fish.

The restaurant is located at the end of the waterfront. lovely place near the crossroads of two seas, the Mediterranean and the Jonian and with a view on the Sicilian promontory where at sunset the sun is hidden. while at lunch the leashes of the sea and the smell of the sauce accompany the commensali. the local specialized in fish processing and also offers a pizza menu but only in the evening. if the place so wonderful also the kitchen must demand the maximum; they could improve, having greater shortness in some dishes (e.g. pasta with sardines and wild fennel: the lingredient fennel was so abundant to cover all flavors or exclude frozen fries apart from some details to manage, remains a great restaurant regarding the aesthetics of the dish, the quality of the ingredients, the discreet service and the account. I highly recommend it!
