Bidrage med feedbackOwners Jake Cosme and Josh Pascua, who are lifelong friends and veterans of the Iraq War, welcomed us warmly. It was a pleasure to meet these two gentlemen, as they couldn't have been nicer, more accommodating, or more enthusiastic about their new venture. Jake first discovered Rita’s while attending the Marine Academy in Maryland, and like us, he couldn't stop thinking about the incredible flavors he experienced during his first visit. Now with their second store in California (the first opened in Santa Clarita just a week ago), Jake and Josh are bringing a fresh take on traditional frozen treats to the community. Mark your calendars for the grand opening on May 17th — it's bound to be a hit in the Redondo Beach area! Our drive from Brentwood to Rita’s Ice was a solid 20-mile journey, but we’ll gladly make that trip again when the location opens full-time in May. Rita's Ice made its debut in Philadelphia in 1984 and began franchising in 1989. Since then, this popular chain of frozen delights has only continued to grow, boasting over 500 locations nationwide, featuring an array of treats such as frozen custards, gelati, mistos (a blend of liquid custard and Italian ice), blendinis (a mix of frozen custard and Italian ice with crushed Oreos, Nilla Wafers, pretzels, Heath bar pieces, and Reese’s Pieces), and many more.
