Little French Bakery - Redondo Beach

If you want a pastry, this is the place to go When I go to Paris, I don't look for restaurants, I look for bakeries, so this was a real pleasant surprise. I love the fruit and almond tarts. The pastry is excellent, and I am a sucker for marzipan. But the sandwhiches are also very nice (I usually take the salmon home for later). Service and atmosphere are rated in the middle because it's a bakery, there is no service to be given. And for the atmosphere, it's small, just enough space for display and payment. It has some tables outside that I believe is a shared space. But I've never sat down. It is near-ish to the beach, so the air outside is fresh. I will say that I have never purchased a full cake here, so I can't review that. But if you're looking for a little personal treat, then you can do no better!

After having been here now many many times, I can confidently say it s the best bakery I ve been to in LA. Much better than republic, or nearby sweat wheat, or anything i ve randomly tried that was not worth remembering. 2nd of 3 best croissants in the US that I ve had (upper crust in Gainesville and Leo s bread in new orleans if curious). Location is great, close to the beach, in a nice walkable area. Not a spot that tries to look nice but serves mid food. It s a simple small store putting out great pastries, with lots of variety too. The stuffed croissants are very good. Passion fruit and lemon one are my favorites. Haven't tried their sandwiches yet but on paper they look good. The Kouign Amman however, absolute masterpiece. The edges are so crispy without being hard to chew, yet the center so moist, filled with nutella at the perfect viscosity. Great flavor.

The chef is a true master patissier. Everything is made from scratch and no premade frozen products like many other French bakeries.

Fantastic bread, delicious pastries, and amazing sandwiches! I feel fortunate to have a place like this in the neighborhood.

True to its name—it's quite small but absolutely charming and delicious!
