Damburger - Redding

We traveled to Redding for a junior football game and decided to grab a burger before the event. Despite the affordable price, the burger was underwhelming. The patty was smashed so thin that it was difficult to taste any meat at all. It seemed like this thin patty might be a feature of the restaurant, but for someone trying it for the first time, it was not a pleasant surprise.

I visited this restaurant from my childhood and was really excited to return. I ordered the spicy "Dam" burger, but received a hot dog that was inedible. Even my husband, who isn't picky at all, was disgusted and we ended up sharing his burger instead. Thankfully, his burger and fries were delicious.

I went here back when I was a kid was super stoked to go back I ordered the spicy dam burger and was given a hot dog that was completely inedible I even asked my husband who isn't picky in any way and he even was grossed out to the point we shared his burger. His burger and fries were delicious though.

A simple burger for a road trip on I-5. After 5+ hours on the road, this little hole in the wall really hit the spot. I got the Damburger with no onions, so only lettuce and mustard inside. The patty was very thin and flavorful! The burger bun is very similar to In-N-Out's style of bread. The fries are a similar style to McDonald's, but I personally think Damburger's are better. They are very lightly salted, so if you prefer salty fries, you should ask for more. The staff was really friendly and made sure all customers were social distancing outside. There are no customers allowed inside the store, but there is outdoor seating if you are comfortable. Two burgers and mega fries only took about 5 minutes! Super quick and perfect for a road trip. Also keep in mind, there is no public bathroom here!

This is a great place that has an amazing history, a Redding staple. I had a Double Dam Thing and a shake, excellent as always. Just as good as I remember from the '70 's.
