Char Steak House - Red Bank

Amazing chefs at this place .. over all experience is good but I felt their Raritan location is better. We ordered Lamb chops and stuffed mushrooms as starters very well made lamb was paired with Mango chutney a very interesting combination.. We Ordered salmon (perfectly cooked in a cedar wood paper very flavorful) Pork chop — well cooked and very flavorful. Shrimp scampi was also well done . Amazing desert .. walnut brownie with Vanilla icecream was yumm

Aside from the waiter who seemed less than thrilled to be serving our large group, the food was delicious. Most of the party ordered steak which were cooked to their liking. I had the ‘meat and potatoes’ which was a braised short rib with potato gnocchi that was something I’d definitely revisit for.

We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The food was excellent, and the service matched it. My steak was flavorful, juicy, and perfectly charred. The side dishes were delicious, and the dessert was outstanding. While the sides are a bit expensive, the quality is certainly worth it, and since it's an upscale steakhouse, that's to be expected. A quick tip: if you order soda, be aware that each refill will be charged as a new drink. I learned that the hard way, haha!

I had one of the best steaks of my life at this restaurant! Red Bank is home to many fantastic dining options, but if you're seeking a lovely spot for a family outing or a romantic date, I highly recommend this place. It was quite busy during our visit, so I suggest making a reservation a few days in advance, especially on weekends. The service was excellent, and our server was very knowledgeable about the menu. They provided detailed descriptions of the specials and guided us in making our choices. We opted for one of the specials: the Wagyu NY Strip Steak with bone marrow mushroom sauce. It was incredible and simply melted in my mouth. The cocktails were delightful, and the wine paired perfectly with our steak. We started with calamari, which was wonderfully crispy and flavorful. The lobster mac and cheese and "death by potatoes" that accompanied our steak were both outstanding. I’ll be reminiscing about this meal for a long time, and I look forward to returning, likely for another special occasion!

I hadn't visited Char in several years, and I'm delighted to say it remains an excellent restaurant. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals, which were served in a timely fashion, and our server was wonderful. While I'm not particularly fond of steak, those who ordered it absolutely loved their dishes. We were also celebrating a birthday, and our son had a fantastic time. It was truly a memorable evening.
