Rifugio Piccole Dolomiti Alla Guardia

I was a guest of my Italian friends for Christmas Day in 2014 and have always remembered my visit with great fondness. Fabulous menu with specialty dishes from Veneto region. Warm friendly professional service and mountain ambiance, really lovely venue highly recommended, I will visit again when next I can travel...

I had the venison and my wife had the rabbit e fungi for lunch there today. The sauces these perfectly cooked game meats were served in were some of the best we've had anywhere. Rich and flavorful. Portions were just right for us, i.e. not unreasonably huge. The mixed vegetable sides were also very tasty. Friendly wine, excellent apple strudel and a very nice espresso. It's a typical Italian mountain road going up there; meaning narrow, curvy and surrounded by amazing views of the snow covered mountains! The road beyond the refugio is closed for the season, so it's a great place to spend the day skiing and sledding and then warm up in this cozy restaurant. The staff was very friendly and spoke English. Everything about the lunch was wonderful! (Small to medium <30lbs] dogs allowed in.

Molto bene alla guardia. valida polenta/soppressa/funghi, sempre ottima e variata la bollita e le sue salse. decisamente buoni dessert e con tanta scelta. Torneremo!

Pranzo di famiglia mille metri. goduto di uno spettacolo molto bello, super sista. mangiato bene al prezzo giusto, anzi bevuto bene.
